In 2014, Dustin Ray Shannon and Faith Dincolo partnered with Arcadia Publishing to create "Images of America: Saline County Kansas." Following the book’s release, residents of Wichita urged Dustin to write a photographic history of the Joyland amusement park. Motivated by this enthusiasm, Dustin embarked on the project, culminating in the publication of the book in September 2015. The book sold hundreds of copies, and in 2023, Dustin launched a final edition, updating the layout and adding two new chapters on the Central Avenue and Mathewson Lane Joyland, and the Joyland Park Gunfighters.
Following the success of the Joyland book, Dustin shifted his focus to a related topic, the Joyland Park Gunfighters, and also published "Whispers of the Prairie: The Chico Chronicles," a novel set in a ghost town. Building on this success, he decided to establish a subsidiary dedicated to publishing historical books, both fictional and non-fictional. In May 2024, Shannon Publishing plans to continue its journey by releasing future titles.
